The Power, Strength And Resourcefulness Of Women

TACNA Women in Church Blog

The Lord God created the Heavens and Earth and all that is within it, all things that are wonderful, both great and small. “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:” Colossians 1:16-20.

Above all was the creation of human beings in his own image. “God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.” Gen. 1:26

Hence, God formed man from the dust of the ground and brought him into the garden with clear and distinct instructions of what to do and not to do. And later created a helpmate for him from the rib of his side. So, women were beautifully formed from a secondary (refined) material, which made them more precious to men. But with human thinking, women are weak and fragile vessels which need to be pushed back to play a second role.

Even some people still perceive them as “man’s property which is more useful in the kitchen.” But in reality, “a woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water”. -Eleanor Roosevelt. I have always been intrigued by the character of women. How most of us men underestimate their power, strength and resourcefulness. The one thing I want you to understand is that not all females are women but all women are females. This is for women, not females. These wonderful creatures, created from refined substances that make them the most beautiful are indispensable.

We, men, cannot operate, or function perfectly without them. No man, except Adam, came to this world but through a woman… Only a woman can give birth to a child. There is no dispute over that, science has evolved by bounds and leaps over time but it has not crossed this particular hurdle.

The saying that behind every successful man there is a woman comes to mind here. Every man who has scaled the walls of success has had a woman helping him from behind the scenes. There is always a woman somewhere praying for, crying for or because of, struggling on behalf of, wishing well or missing a man.

There is no man out there that is not loved, prayed for or cared for by at least one woman. Even if the whole world hates a man, he can be assured of his mother’s love, for the Bible says “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? ” Isaiah 49:15 Women are mentally stronger than men by far, I decoded this a long time ago. A woman can go through forty heartbreaks in a lifetime and not only survive but stay hopeful of a perfect forty-one but a man hardly survives one. A really strong woman accepts the war she went through and is ennobled by her scars.

If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman. Women have to constantly deal with a lot of issues emotionally, physically and spiritually. Still, they handle them with class and ease. The things women deal with daily are things that require divine wisdom and strength. From menstrual pains, in-laws, pregnancy, childbirth, taking care of the home/kids, diaper changes, sleepless nights after childbirth, breastfeeding, and postnatal blues to early morning cooking and school runs. Most times she is the first to wake up and the last to go to bed, only a woman hears a child’s cry and knows exactly what the child wants. The man will always ask, what is it your child wants? Women are the ultimate multi-tasker, they can do five different things at the same time and they’ll still be sane enough to handle their responsibility as a wife, mother, sister, daughter and career woman. Only a woman cries herself to sleep at night and then embraces her kids in the morning with a hug and a smile. Women carry the burden of the family without the expectation that someone will feel her pain or move by her tears.

We men are spoiled by women and we take that for granted, there is hardly a time when a man is not loved genuinely by a woman, it’s always his mother, wife, sister or daughter. There are times that men ONLY love themselves. I hope that my daughters grow up empowered with the knowledge of God and never define themselves by the way they look but by qualities that make them resourceful, intelligent, strong, caring and responsible women.

Spiritually, women are not a pushback. In all Christian gatherings, conferences and church activities, they’re always the majority.’ Their persistence and consistency in the things of the Lord and the programs of the church depict their characters. No wonder, they’re the first to see the Glorious Christ. There is this saying “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:30 If you are reading this, wherever you are, stop whatever you are doing, visit or call the women in your life and tell them how appreciative you are of all the things they do. Start with your mother, if she’s still alive. And if she’s not, appreciate her efforts and good doing until the day you die.

To all the women in the house, good mothers in Israel, especially all our Excellent Women of California District. I appreciate you all! Happy conference and anniversary thank God for another glorious day, God bless glorious vision and God bless you. Amen.

Love from His obedient servant
Pastor Lere Abodunrin
